Chemical Recovery

Chemical Recovery is a ministry of the Antelope Valley Church that has as its primary goal to help those who are suffering from addiction to drugs and alcohol to live a life free from the slavery of this affliction. It is our conviction that people who were once addicted to chemicals can live happy, healthy, and triumphant lives by following spiritual principles taught in the Bible.

Some people may ask why such a ministry is needed when there are other resources available to the addict or alcoholic. That is a good question. Throughout the years, many different segments of society have attempted to control this problem through a variety of methods. The courts and legal system have attempted to control addiction through incarceration and other punitive measures with mixed results. The medical profession has attempted to cure the addict as well through various drug regimens which have had limited, if any, success. Unfortunately, the religious community has also failed the addict by not providing solid spiritual answers to this terrible affliction.

In addition, many recovery programs, while being successful in helping the alcoholic and addict get free from drugs and alcohol, fail to meet the spiritual needs of those who participate in them. It is not that there is anything wrong with these programs, in fact, many of us in Chemical Recovery participate in the recovery programs as well. It is just that recovery programs were never designed or intended to help someone make peace with their Maker.

Chemical Recovery takes a Bible-based, spiritual approach to dealing with addiction. Many addicts can relate to Romans 7 which talks about living a life that is completely out of control. We believe that it is only through the power of God that someone who is enslaved to drugs can be happy, joyous, and free, and experience life to the full.

If you feel that you may benefit from this ministry, or if you have any questions regarding addiction, please feel free to contact us. Chemical Recovery meets every Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Church Building.
